Depersonalization is a feeling of disconnection from one’s self. It is thought as a dissociative method of withdrawing from anxiety (9) The person feels unreal, detached from his own experience and unable to feel emotion.
The symptoms occur in generalized and phobic anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, schizophrenia, temporal lobe epilepsy, depersonalization disorder, or a healthy tired person.
Depersonalization may be sometimes accompanied with a sense of numbing, derealisation, apparent disorientation, dissociative amnesia.
